O’Neil Cemetery

The O’Neil Cemetery is on the North side of O'Neil Road in Hinesburg and contains about 67 stones. Rows are displayed here from West to East and stones are listed from South to North. The data for this table was recorded at the cemetery by Jean Miner and kept in the Hinesburg Town Hall vault. It was transcribed by John and Susan Roberts. Of the cemetery, Jean wrote:

Miss Arlene O'Neil told me that her farm was the home of the Irish family and this started as their family cemetery. When she was a child it was all overgrown with weeds, bushes, etc. Her mother had the hired man work at clearing it. Mrs. O’Neil said that the people buried here deserved a decent place to rest.
